Since 2023 we have been collaborating with the Ministry of Education in Cantabria to offer a platform for school and academic management, monitoring, evaluation and communication to all schools in the region. The project consists of providing a collaborative academic management platform, which allows the assessment of competencies and evaluation criteria by teachers, tracking the academic progress of students in real time. It also provides a communication platform for teachers, students and families, allowing visibility of academic progress and individual or mass communication in real time.

What need or challenge did they have at the educational level in Cantabria?

The Ministry of Education of Cantabria was looking for a comprehensive platform that could meet the needs of all schools, facilitating the comprehensive management of the center, the evaluation and monitoring of students, and communication with families and students to give visibility to academic progress.

They were faced with the problem that each center had its own processes and a wide variety of tools. To facilitate their tasks, the Ministry of Education was looking for a platform that could offer everything a center might need, and that had an intuitive and simple process.

In addition, following the implementation of the LOMLOE educational law throughout the country, schools were looking for a tool that would allow them to competently assess their students, in compliance with the LOMLOE educational law.

Visualization of students’ performance thanks to the evaluation targets, which allow to visualize the performance compared to the class average in all the skills and evaluation criteria worked on in class, and to make informed decisions.

App for Microsoft Teams, which allows the Additio App platform to be integrated into Microsoft Teams, facilitating all the tasks that are done there.
Lesson planning, from the design of fully customizable didactic units aligned with the official curriculum. In addition, these can be easily shared with other teachers and the school, facilitating collaboration.
Monitoring of attendance and behavior, being able to inform families in real time of absences in class or incidents.
Creation of quizzes, fully customizable and that can be sent to students so that they can respond in real time.
Reports of all kinds, both at center and student level, with all the key information to see the student’s progress. You can even create fully customizable report cards, automatically linking data and sharing them with families.

Centralization of data, thanks to the fact that the center is managed from a single place, simplifying processes and facilitating tasks.
One-way communication, either by the educational center or by the teachers. These are massive communications that allow both text and images or documents, and keep families informed of any general aspect of the center or of the different subjects.

Subscription to informative channels, based on public stories. The centers can create specific channels to inform about specific extracurricular activities, about secretarial issues, etc.
Individual chats, either internally in the center, or externally to connect the center with students and families. The chats support text and audio entries, as well as files and images. They are completely private and secure.

What results have they achieved using Additio App?

Since the beginning of the project of the Ministry of Education of Cantabria together with Additio App in the 2023-2024 academic year, there have already been many schools that have implemented the platform in their processes.

It is expected that, due to the success of this first year, by the next year 2024-2025 almost all the schools in the region will be using the platform.

Additio App has offered several trainings during the course to ensure that the centers successfully implement the functionalities included in the project. These trainings will continue to be offered in the next academic year for new centers that want to join the project.
