Getting to know Irene P\u00e9rez\u2026 Tell us a bit about yourself and your teaching background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve been a Primary and Physical Education teacher since 2005. I passed the public teaching exams in Catalonia in 2007. I\u2019ve worked, both as a specialist and as a homeroom teacher, in different provinces of Catalonia and for 10 years in Galicia. I\u2019ve been using Additio App since 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. What levels and subjects are you currently teaching?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I teach PE to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades. In addition, this year I\u2019ve stepped down from cycle coordination to take charge of occupational risk prevention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. What made you choose the teaching profession? How would you define your teaching style?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Honestly, it\u2019s a bit of a mix of everything. I look for the best approach for each group, moment, or Learning Situation we\u2019re working on. I combine and\/or alternate different teaching styles \u2014 more or less guided, self-learning, cooperative learning \u2014 with sessions that include varying levels of ICT use. I try not to get too comfortable or stuck in a single style; I always look for what I think will work best for my students to help them acquire the area\u2019s competencies as effectively as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. What role do you think technology plays in teaching today?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In today\u2019s society, it\u2019s obvious that technology plays an important role. It serves as a tool for the teaching\u2013learning process, provides support for SEN students, facilitates communication with families, and \u2014 in my case (Additio helps me infinitely) \u2014 makes teachers\u2019 work more practical when it comes to yearly and weekly planning, collecting evidence, recording daily data and evaluation information, and generating reports\/summaries to transfer into the official system with competency comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. What do you think are the main challenges in education\u2019s digital transformation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I think there are two:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keeping up to date with all the changes and advances to make the most of them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding \u2014 and helping families and especially students understand \u2014 that everything related to digitalization is a tool, not an end in itself.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"901\" height=\"496\" src=\"https:\/\/additioapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/additioapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-3.png 901w, https:\/\/additioapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-3-300x165.png 300w, https:\/\/additioapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-3-768x423.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 901px) 100vw, 901px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Artificial intelligence is increasingly present in education. Have you integrated any AI tools into your teaching practice?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, several. I\u2019ve used them as support to make it easier to create teaching materials for my lessons (except for Visual Thinking resources, which obviously need to be hand-drawn) and to help draft\/adapt circulars and reports to the cultural diversity of the families in my school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Do you think AI can be beneficial if used correctly?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, like almost everything \u2014 with proper use and in the right measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9. How did you discover Additio App? When and why did you start using it in your daily work?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As I\u2019ve mentioned, I started using&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/additioapp.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Additio App<\/a>&nbsp;back in the 2011\u201312 school year. I had just started at a rural school with a small class that included four grade levels together. On top of that, I was teaching PE for both preschool and all of primary, coordinating the library, ICT, coexistence, and science areas. The Additio paper triplex wasn\u2019t enough anymore, and I was literally losing my papers. So I started looking for alternatives and discovered the app version of what I\u2019d already been using. With an Android tablet, I managed just fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10. How has your classroom management changed since you started using the tool?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It has changed so much (and the more resources and tools you add, the more it changes) that I wouldn\u2019t even know where to start. What I can say is that I\u2019m now more organized, objective, and productive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">11. Which Additio App features do you use the most and why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Except for communication and the unit creator, I use all the other tools daily: group creation, schedule, calendar, \u201ctoday\u201d section, <a href=\"https:\/\/additioapp.com\/en\/attendance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attendance <\/a>and daily records, <a href=\"https:\/\/additioapp.com\/en\/rubrics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rubric<\/a>-based assessment, skills-based assessment, editing assessment instruments, <a href=\"https:\/\/additioapp.com\/en\/learning-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> generation\u2026 Shall I go on? Assessing under the LOMLOE has been a challenge for many teachers. How do you use the app to promote competency-based assessment?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you even launched the webinar explaining how to import the curriculum, competencies, and criteria\u2026 I\u2019d already done it! I had set it up for PE across all Primary levels. So, in each gradebook category, I link the competencies being worked on. And at the end of each term, I use the Competencies tab to write individualized competency-based evaluations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">13. If you could only take one Additio App feature to a desert island, which one would it be and why?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I can\u2019t choose just one \u2014 impossible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">14. What motivated you to become an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/additioapp.com\/en\/additio-certified-teacher\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Additio&nbsp;Certified&nbsp;Teacher<\/a>?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What motivated me was that I was already playing that role in my school. Since I\u2019d been using Additio App the longest and was already very familiar with all its tools, my colleagues started asking me what they could do, how to do certain things, and eventually they became hooked on using Additio App \u2014 just like I did at the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">15. You\u2019ve participated in training sessions and webinars \u2014 what motivates you to share your experience with other teachers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, I\u2019ve participated in several Additio App webinars and contributed to a blog article about how PE teachers can manage when it rains and there\u2019s no gym or covered area available. What motivates me? Simple: sharing is living. We\u2019re all colleagues \u2014 the work isn\u2019t just mine; it\u2019s the whole teaching staff\u2019s. If you could give one piece of advice to a new teacher just starting out, what would it be?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Patience \u2014 after 1 comes 2. Don\u2019t be afraid to ask your colleagues anything you\u2019re unsure about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">17.
